Thanks to the pandemic there have been shortages on many critical things but it has also meant at times shortages on some of your favorite things including snacks. One of things that was hard to come by early on was finding C's favorite white cheddar cheese popcorn by Smartfood. I already love making fresh popcorn with coconut oil because it's so easy. So it made me curious if I could recreate his favorite popcorn with the right cheese powder. Thanks to Amazon, I was able to find a white cheddar cheese powder. And guess what not only is this easy but it's also less than $1 to make a nice batch of cheesy popcorn which is less than what you'd pay for Smartfood.
Ingredients
1/2 Cup (80 grams) of Popcorn Kernels
3 Tablespoons of Coconut Oil
3-4 Teaspoons (8-11 grams) of White Cheddar Cheese Powder
1/2 Teaspoon of Salt
Kitchen Equipment Needed
1. Pot with Lid
2. Airtight Container for Storage
Recipe
1. Simply add your coconut oil and popcorn kernels to your pot and cover with lid. Heat on stove over medium heat.
2. Gently shake your pot as the popcorn pops to ensure all your kernels get to the bottom of your pot to pop.
3. Once it slows down, transfer your popcorn to your container to ensure it does not burn.
4. Add your salt and cheese powder. Cover with container lid and shake to help evenly distribute your salt and cheese. Enjoy!
